Call for Expressions of Interest: 2023 Data and Society Accelerator Program

The Data and Society Accelerator Program aims to support nonprofits as they make progress on their respective data journeys while equipping nonprofit teams with the mentorship, tools, and expertise they seek to develop and test proof-of-concept data approaches that rely on large, complex datasets.

Our goal is to de-risk learning by creating a space for nonprofits to build their capacity for advanced data approaches that might significantly improve their operations, service delivery impact, or community engagement. The program provides resources to seed potential rather than to scale proven solutions, foregoing the need for nonprofits to set up and invest in a test data infrastructure or strategy before knowing if it’s a good fit for their work. In 2023, the Data and Society Accelerator Program will run TWO distinct cohorts:

  • Our 2023 Data to Safeguard Human Rights cohort will be comprised of nonprofit organizations seeking to integrate cloud computing practices into their work on a range of human rights issues around the world.
  • Our 2023 Data Governance Cohort welcomes nonprofits around the world seeking to make a catalytic investment in improving their own data governance through a focus on six key elements: data ethics, roles, processes, technology, policies, and security.

The EOI window for the Data Governance and Data to Safeguard Human Rights cohorts is now closed. Please reach out to accelerator@mcgovern.org with any questions.
